Gastric By-Pass
This procedure comprises a basis for the laparoscopic (closed) method that creates a new path between the stomach and intestines by reducing the stomach volume. Gastric bypass is a malabsorptive operation and nutrient-limiting procedure. Nowadays, the Mini Gastric Bypass and the Roux-en-Y are the most common procedures for obesity. Also, there are some other procedures for it.

Recovery phase and weight loss after gastric bypass surgery is similar to gastric sleeve surgery. There are important studies that showing these surgeries are more effective than gastric sleeve surgery as regards metabolic control (diabetes). The Mini Gastric Bypass and the Roux-en-Y are preferred for patients with metabolic findings.
